Shop & Yard Worker

We’re seeking a hands-on, motivated individual to join our team as a Shop & Yard Operations Assistant. This is an ideal position for someone looking to grow into a long-term role in mechanical assembly or warehouse operations. Many of our former Yard Assistants have advanced into full-time technician roles on our truck-building team.

This position plays a vital part in keeping our shop running efficiently and cleanly. You’ll work across departments, supporting mechanics, warehouse staff, and leadership with a variety of essential tasks. Key Responsibilities:

• Pick up parts and company vehicles using company truck
• Maintain a clean, organized yard and shop environment
• Sort and dispose of recyclables and scrap materials (wood, metal, cardboard, etc.)
• Pressure wash outdoor areas, spray for weeds, pick up trash
• Organize truck chassis and put structural steel away
• Keep common areas and break spaces clean and stocked
• Perform forklift inspections and safety checks
• Maintain eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, and other safety-related items
• Stock consumables and ensure parts are placed in correct locations
• Join and participate in the company’s safety committee

Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable standing, walking, and bending for long periods
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Forklift experience (or willingness to be trained)
